I thought you were anti multiple threads.
June 5, 2015 8:23 AM - BirdnestHead
Thank God there's a new Dunkin Donuts next to the salt mine! I must celebrate!
June 5, 2015 8:26 AM - BirdnestHead
Actually, an occasion such as this demands a higher quality donut. I wonder if Krispy Kreme is still around?
June 5, 2015 8:35 AM - dibs
There's one in Penn Station

June 5, 2015 10:37 AM - petebklyn
I thought the canadian donut place was supposed to be best. mortons or something like that. and I don't mean canadian in the way part uses it.

I saw that one and I didn't like it. I'd rather be here by myself.

Ok, your choice.
June 5, 2015 10:50 AM - Slope4Eva
Pete, are you thinking of Tim Horton's? I have one not far from me, but haven't tried it.
June 5, 2015 10:54 AM - pepper
Yes, much more pleasant out here in the open. I think I'll join you for the day, Pete.
June 5, 2015 10:58 AM - petebklyn
that's it,eva. Tim Horton's. DD has disappointed me in recent years. I forget where the Horton's is.
I have not been satisfied with any donuts -- since College Bakery on Court St
closed several years back.

I think our resident R.E. agent should be able to find out through the grapevine who bought he carriage house on Pacific St. for $15M. probably
just a hedgehog and not a celebrity though.
June 5, 2015 11:01 AM - Slope4Eva
I'll have to try it and report back. But, I am a boring donut person. I like the plain crullers, so I may not be the best critic.
June 5, 2015 11:05 AM - petebklyn
my favorite are the jelly....with cinnamon granulated sugar..not the powdered.
and the filling better be good.
June 5, 2015 11:06 AM - pepper
I don't really liked donuts - the light airy kind. I always get the "fried cakes", as I think they call them.

Actually, I think Dunkin Donuts calls them "Dunkin' Donuts". They are less sweet, more dense, and far superior for actually dunking in your coffee.

The absolute BEST donuts were made in a tiny little shop on 9th street, just below 5th Ave. I used to get their jellys.
June 5, 2015 11:11 AM - dibs
Probably, Pete. I can't see oil going any lower. I don't get contrascts offered until later in the year though
June 5, 2015 11:14 AM - pepper
There was a Tim Horton's on Court St. near Borough Hall for a little while, but it was short-lived. I don't think there are any in Brooklyn.
June 5, 2015 11:18 AM - petebklyn
the market by me upstate makes apple cider donuts in the autumn....fresh...
the denser fried cake type of donut. They are very good. Sometimes they have the frying machine in front of store and you get them hot.
June 5, 2015 11:20 AM - petebklyn
I have to sneak out and get filled propane tanks for grill. I have this habit
of not turning it off completely and gets all used up. I guess because it is in the dark when I use the grill.
June 5, 2015 11:23 AM - pepper
That is dangerous, Pete. Sneak out because if someone finds out about this habit, you'll be in big trouble?
June 5, 2015 11:40 AM - petebklyn
ah, the other tank is full. I thought both were empty. so don't have to go to Lowe's.

ok...too nice a day outside. heading out on bicycle. enjoy your desk jobs.
June 5, 2015 11:48 AM - pepper
Really? It's cold, rainy and dreary here today. Just fine with sitting at my dest with this kind of weather.
June 5, 2015 11:56 AM - InsertSnappyNameHere
i'm freezing :-( where did our sunshine go???
June 5, 2015 2:12 PM - dibs
I really don't want her in town when I am there.

On July 2, Clinton will visit the Cape for a pair of "Conversation With Hillary" fundraisers, one at the Osterville home of philanthropists Elaine and Gerald Schuster, and the other co-hosted in Provincetown by Alix Ritchie and Bryan Rafanelli, the Boston-based event planner who orchestrated Chelsea Clinton's wedding.

You could paint some signs for your lawn.
June 5, 2015 2:18 PM - petebklyn
76 and mostly sunny here. Just like my disposition.
June 5, 2015 2:26 PM - petebklyn
last time I went to Elton John concert fundraiser Hillary at Radio City. I hope they do again. Hillary/Bill/Chelsea were there. She spoke some.
Not surprised you don't like her. After all you have problem with successful,
intelligent women.
June 5, 2015 2:28 PM - dibs
All women, apparently. And, I am a bigot.

I never found Bill to be that attractive but in this pic he looks good. They both look good.

Possible closing on LI coop next week. The buyers are ready. Now trying
to get all the money grubbing lawyers to come up with a time they all can make it. has to be at coop attorney's office.
Let it happen.

We may end up getting a brand new piano. and some money.

June 5, 2015 6:35 PM - petebklyn
I'm am sorry The What is banned.
June 5, 2015 6:37 PM - rf
New piano AND money? That sounds great! Closing too.
June 5, 2015 6:37 PM - BirdnestHead
Good Luck, Pete! May the Force be with you...

I never did get around to having any donuts today :-(
June 5, 2015 6:39 PM - petebklyn
still have time, BnH
June 5, 2015 8:20 PM - BirdnestHead
Arg. Private invite-only groups, limited groups, public groups, threads and announcements, bannings and policies, this has gotten too much for my brain, I have a short stack, I am now declaring this an official pain in the butt. It's starting to feel like work.
June 5, 2015 8:47 PM - BirdnestHead
Thank you Scott, for all your hard work, and for adding feature after feature after feature after feature, to the insatiable maw of the user group. If it were my site, I probably would have told them to piss off, suck it up Buttercup, vote with your feet, just generally stop your yammering and whining and go set up your own blog. It's not rocket science. I know, I've done rocket science, and rocket science is harder. And nowhere near as irritating.

As for me, if it ain't on the public thread, I ain't gonna bother with it no more.
June 5, 2015 8:51 PM - pepper
Hi BnH!
June 5, 2015 8:53 PM - pepper
I know, things have gotten rather complicated around here the last few days. My head is still spinning.
June 5, 2015 9:01 PM - BirdnestHead
Hi Pepper!
Yeah, I don't do complicated away from the office anymore. 'CUZ I DON'T HAVE TO.
You're well, I trust?

I am, I am. And I hope it will settle down here soon. Too much drama.
June 5, 2015 9:07 PM - InsertSnappyNameHere
a brouhaha is always a' brewin'!
June 5, 2015 9:09 PM - BirdnestHead
It seems to be serving a useful purpose for some. I have nothing against it, but I have no need to utilize so many different modes of communication. I tend to be somewhat introverted a lot of the time anyways. The public OT is enough for me.
Glad you're well. I'm doing ok, too. Softball league is rolling along, weather's getting nice for girl-watching, and soon it'll beach time!
June 5, 2015 9:13 PM - pepper
Glad you are well. Miss you. Any chance we'll see you on Monday?

As I've stated, I prefer the open OT too, but I'll float with the consensus.
June 5, 2015 9:13 PM - kens
June 5, 2015 9:14 PM - BirdnestHead
Very doubtful for Monday.
June 5, 2015 9:15 PM - pepper
Hi Kens! You need an avatar, friend.
June 5, 2015 9:17 PM - BirdnestHead
June 5, 2015 9:22 PM - kens
I'll get on soon. Promise. Out for dinner now then to watch Entourage Movie.
June 5, 2015 9:23 PM - pepper
Glad to have you back. Have fun.

Sufganiyot! For donut day!
June 5, 2015 10:08 PM - Deleted
BNH- why public? It's not hard to get a login and not post if you want to lurk? Why do you prefer all this be out in the open?
June 5, 2015 10:10 PM - Deleted
So tomorrow whoever sets up the thread (I don't have powers) will it be public or private? Early bird gets the worm?
June 5, 2015 10:11 PM - Deleted
You are making it over compictated- the idea is there will only be one thread each day. This site has always had the public vs private functionality in various forms. The new idea is to make the OT in a format that allows only logged in users to see comments. There does not need to be multiple threads ever again.
June 5, 2015 10:17 PM - rf
In addition to two OTs, there was a lot of activity today, opinions sought and given, decisions made by the powers-that-be. Various threads covered the same topic as the day went on. But Randi's right, presumably there will be one OT tomorrow, on the limited side. I hope Pete will join us there, and that we're past the tough stuff.
June 5, 2015 10:25 PM - BirdnestHead
I don't prefer that it *all* be out in the open, I'm just personally too tired and too burnt out to try keeping track of multiple conversations in multiple threads, and remembering what I was posting where. As other PLUSAs before me have said, "I can't be asked." Each person is free to do as they please.
