A texted me yesterday. I texted her back today and some guy called who wants to return her phone to her. He found it where she left it, in a car service. She got the phone a few weeks ago. Just when I think she's doing better, she proves she's still a mess. Luckily this guy really wants to return her phone to her - he said he lost his phone the same way one time and wanted to do the right thing.

Can't wait...haha, the "dick dock" It has been a while since I "heard" someone mention that place. There are lots of young guys here, many drive down from Portland on weekends. Portland has a young population, but many of them are hipsters so I doubt you would be tempted. Most of the summer workers here are from Eastern Europe. There are some real beauties slinging hash and wiping tables.

I miss Cobble Hill, too. It will always be my home, even while I live in Boerum Hill.

Pep, I would say you are in Cobble Hill, on the edge of Boerum Hill.

Randi, do you know the guy who made the POV film about his MS? I really enjoyed it. Very sad but happy that he found love.

June 28, 2014 8:57 PM - Mrs. Mingott
Where are you, rf? ;-)
June 28, 2014 8:58 PM - Mrs. Mingott
Almost 6 years, Cobble. Got divorced. A friend of my parents was selling her place and I thought a change would be good.

How's the commute from Brooklyn to New Haven?

Not fun, Six. By the time I get home, I am totally exhausted.

Was he a very bad man, or was it amicable?
June 28, 2014 9:21 PM - sixyearsandcounting
I'd imagine so. Metro-North might be reasonable enough but the subway ride afterwards is the worst.
June 28, 2014 9:22 PM - Mrs. Mingott
It was not amicable, but calling him a "very bad man" is not really applicable. He broke my heart, but I don't think we were ideally suited anyway.
June 28, 2014 9:23 PM - Mrs. Mingott
It is, especially when there are any delays or the weather is bad. I have often slept on the couch in my office or stayed with friends in New Haven.
June 28, 2014 9:28 PM - pepper
The 4/5 from GCT to Borough Hall takes about 15 min, when it's running right; that's my commute. But Mrs. M, you prolly switch to the A/C to High St, to get off closer to home?
June 28, 2014 9:30 PM - Cobble B. Hiller
Aw, very sorry, dear. That's always difficult.

My ex and I are best friends, but were not ideally suited. It was very sad/upsetting at first when we split (my idea), but now we're very close. BnH was not happy at first, but has come to see it's no threat to him.

Scott - when I'm in the UAE I'm 8 or 9 hours ahead...really screws with posting here. Impossible to keep up (lolzz).
June 28, 2014 9:47 PM - BoerumHillScott
That pic is around 5 blocks from where I grew up.
My mom's house is not nearly as impressive.

This is my first time being here in the summer in over 10 years, and I really had forgotten how humid it is.
Even after dark, it is pretty warm and the air is oppressively heavy.

June 28, 2014 9:48 PM - Mrs. Mingott
You must have a/c?
June 28, 2014 9:50 PM - BoerumHillScott
My mom has full central AC now, and keeps it pretty cool inside.
I like to step out also, and that's when it hits me.

Growing up, there was just a few window units that could not keep up in summer time.
June 28, 2014 9:51 PM - Mrs. Mingott
I went to a conference in New Orleans one summer and thought I would die every time I stepped outside.
June 28, 2014 10:10 PM - RowerChick
We will be in New Orleans Tuesday. We have the car and hotel reserved, but we still haven't decided where we will eat. I think I already gained 2lbs from the food I've stuffed in my face since coming to Baton Rouge. BHS's sister picked us up from the airport and had donuts ready for us to munch on.

Is the wedding reception still going on, Mrs. M?
June 28, 2014 10:23 PM - Mrs. Mingott
Oh, no, Pepper. It ended hours ago. The grooms left for Boston for the night before leaving for their honeymoon tomorrow morning. I'm down to 4 house guests. Everyone has found a cool spot to relax and eat ice cream. Listening to music.

Sorry, Snappy! You seem much livelier than you have in recent days and for that I am grateful. I am sure mama snaps is too, and she'll know that I wasn't reporting falsely about how well you were doing just to cheer her up! Sweet dreams, I hope. RC had some funny reports of what she overheard while you slept, and I heard some doozies myself!
