Got to head out to the Sherwin Williams store shortly.

CGar I actually like any and all of those colors. I assume you are not doing the painting yourself, given your Faith. If you don't like what gets put on, we can always change it later. I could repaint one of those rooms in about 30 minutes.

Today I have to do three ceilings, the bedroom, kitchen and stairway.

Holmes, I've found the subways increasingly DEAD - morning and night - as the week has progressed. The office is nearly dead, no meetings scheduled. It's great.

I'm actually glad I rescheduled my vacay. The past few months at work have been really intense, and my recent firmwide initiative wraps up next Friday, so I'm actually looking forward to being out when everyone is really busy again.

Cobble, swing up by Troy and drop in on Bxgrl. She'd love to see you!

CGar, I like the colors you picked, I don't think you can go wrong with any of them, so don't stress it. The blue/grey was very nice. I'm not a beige person, but I think all of them looked good in the rooms in the photos. Pick one, and I'm sure you'll love it. If you don't, Dave will repaint it for you. : )

Well, I took a look down the alley, and it does look like it's the original garage or stable or summin (you can tell from the side wall) with a new facade.

Cobble, 30 miles isn't that far. She knows the best local place that has killer burgers and beer. Only a few blocks from our house. And there's another place a few blocks down from them called Brown's Brewing Company, which has a great menu, and they are the largest artisanal brewery around. Good stuff!

My guess is that every Tour de France rider from 1990 to 2005 was guilty of doping, along with the majority before and after.
The culture of the sport/event seems to be one where performance enhanign drugs plays a key role.

Well, it's official, I close on Sept 12, at which time I hand over the keys. Which means when I leave there, I'm technically homeless in Brooklyn. It's a really weird thought. I know I'm going to be quite a wreck. I don't know if I'm leaving that day, or what. Plans still in the air, and it depends on the moving, as well. It's too close, but I really didn't have too much choice in the matter. My mover of choice may not be able to move me, so I'm looking at alternatives. My stress level is rising.

There were around 1000 facebook comments on various threads about the no baggage policy for the NYC Marathon, with 98% of them being negative.

Seems like a stupid idea to me, but reading between the line I think this is a result of wanting to increase the number of runners and being squeezed by they city to pay more the street closings.

DCB, my new profession entails working to help provide access to basic goods and services that the billions of people in the world currently do not have. I can sum it up as follows:

- No reaction to a yellow sun... no radioactive spider bite.. just the super-human abilities of a charitable heart, and the will to do good.

- To inspire others through example and assist those in need.

- To shine the signal light skyward and summon the superhero that resides in everyone.

Coincidentally, the above is also the Mission Statement of the Skiffytown League of Heroes, but I digress.

This is the anti-Stepford. I need to come up with something Utopian. Hmmm, maybe Utopia?

I had an electrician tell me he would have me killed by the crack dealers that lived on the block. It could happen anytime, anywhere, he told me. He came up to my chin, and tried to intimidate me and get in my face, but I stood my ground. (I collapsed after he left.)

I worked with a Satanic woman once at a bank. She was super glamorous, not beautiful exactly, but glamorous, platinum hair, super expensive clothes, Texas style, glam, glam, glam. She made guys stutter. She was a man eater, evil and not too smart. She decided that I was hired to replace her and went after me with a single-mindedness of purpose which I had never seen before. She worked herself up into this imaginary frenzy which finally exploded on a trading floor (not at me and I wasn't there, thank God) and she then was on termination watch. Which scared her even more, so with her lawyer boyfriend, she concocted a sexual harassment suit (you can't get fired when they are pending) and accused our boss (nice guy) and a (GAY) male coworker of sexual harrassment. That was about 9 months of my life I would like back, but I did survive to see her escorted by security guards out of the place. She was a force field of malevolence.

I did get the opportunity to warn a friend of mine about her last year. He called me to ask about her after she came pitching some cockamamie energy thing to him. It gave me great pleasure to tell him to just turn around and walk away. He is still thanking me.

Yea, Part. Sell that stuff!

I enjoyed hanging around with you at the Gift Show. I ended up taking the shuttle bus to the piers, and did those, too. I was disappointed by the offerings, in general. Nothing new, and a lot of copying trends already out there, like industrial lighting, and reclaimed wood, not innovative trend setting. It was like they all decided to wait to see what Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware did, and then follow with variations or knock-offs.

I also found the concrete floors there to be much worse on my body than the Javits. Getting old!

You are right about some of the trends that are getting long in the tooth but those are the companies who supply the items to RestHard and PotBarn.

I overlooked most of that and focused on what is new. Can be hard to see past stuff. A sea of stuff!

Glad you made it there! I put in the full 5 days and wanted one more. My car is in the shop so I'm still walking everywhere. No rest, but good work out for me.
