Before & After Part 2: How do you feel about Orange?!

Not everyone could agree on yesterday's blue makeover. I suspect however that the orange in today's 'after' will have more of you agreeing than not. Click for the exterior and interior reno pics:

I like the layout and design, but the not inside or outside colors.

Outside is terrific. The orange gives it a beach feel. Not crazy about lime green or the light color floors but do like the stairs.

No to the orange. I kind of like the lime green fireplace, but glad they stopped there, any more would have been tooooo much. Not at all fond of the dining room chairs.

I can't believe they have one of those silly sliding barn door things. What a ridiculous look. Who would do such a thing?

I don't like the remodel at all.

I think they took all of the charm out of the exterior. It needed lightening up, but not I-Hopping. (Good call, there!) Losing the beautiful period windows for orange aluminum siding is a crime.

Since their goal was "green" I would guess the old windows didn't meet the criteria.

The stairs are great.
The backyard will probably be great once it is used, but looks too sterile in the pics.

didn't like anything about this renov. usually hate orange, but didn't hate it here. nevertheless, I preferred the orig color to the orange. usually like rustic barn door type doors but this one looks plastic. Agree with bhs that yard looks sterile - same for the whole house as well as most stages properties! not crazy about stairs either except the stringer is interesting.

snappy: love these posts - keep them coming!

Humph! There's nothing greener than keeping perfectly good windows out of the landfill.

true MM but I'm thinking green as in energy consumption/loss. I replaced our single panes with double panes and am now having hot flashes.

Ok, but they could have kept the front ones. Now it looks like a jumped up '50s tract house. I'd put up with the draft, and get lined drapes, at least in the front, where it counts, curb-appeal wise.

I do understand where you're coming from.
