Our hosting provider had a critical failure and lost the site, as well as all backups.

At first, they said they were restoring it, but then they let me know that that they could not.

I have rebuilt the site from scratch on a new server with a new provider, but we lost anything done since the new site cut-over, including accounts and passwords.

If you got e-mails, with new passwords, use the second e-mail.
If not, please try the reset password feature, then e-mail me if that does not work.

Have you heard of the Celebrity SNAP Challenge? Basically, one celebrity dares another celeb to, for a period of one week, live off of the SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, formerly known as food stamps) budget for one person. The stated cause is to bring attention the difficulties faced by poor families and individuals affording healthy, fresh food options while limited to a SNAP budget. Many have praised the celebs for their attempts to highlight the struggle of the low income persons among us. Others have denounced the stars, claiming that they are engaging in "poverty tourism." What's your knee-jerk reaction to this? Do you give the celebs cheers or jeers? Why?
Now read this quick article about one celeb's experience with the SNAP challenge.
Now that you've read it, are you inclined to change your answers to the questions above? Or did you find that the article strengthened your original position? Do you think that celebrities have some sort of moral duty to use their stardom to benefit the less fortunate?

Thanks for participating!

Major screw up
April 19, 2015, 9:45 am - About LifeinBlkyn - BoerumHillScott
Yesterday, the site went down due to a hardware failure at our hosting provider.
During the day they said they were restoring it, and it would come back.
This morning when I asked for a status update, they said the server was lost, and no data could be recovered.
I was making backups of the site, but was storing them on the same server, so they were all lost as well.
In the past, I also copied backups to a different server, but due to procrastination I never set up that process for the new site.
Right now, the site is running on the same server that I run various personal and other web sites on.
It should be fine here, but I will start looking into other options for hosting. My strong preference is to have the site on a virtual private server by itself in order to segregate lifeinbklyn from the other sites I run, as well as to let the two servers back each other up.
I am sorry for the inconvenience and the loss of data.
